MRP - Net Requirements Versus Fixed Order Quantity

Hello:

In GP 2013 SP2, the MRP Workbench is using the Net Requirements quantity for Planned Order Receipt rather than the Fixed Order Quantity from an item whose Item Resource Planning window is indeed configured to use the Fixed Order Quantity as its Order Policy.

Why is MRP ignoring Fixed Order Quantity and other metrics in Item Resource Planning and using Net Requirements instead?

Thanks!

John

RE: MRP - Net Requirements Versus Fixed Order Quantity

    Hello John,

The Planned Order Receipt (POR) is equal to the sum of 'Made by MO Planned' and 'Planned PO's'.  Neither of these MRP quantities will trigger exactly the Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ). It is also affected by the Min, Max and Multiple.  For example if your FOQ is 200 and your demand on that particular day is 250 your POR will be 400 (200+200).  The FOQ affects only the quantity of a single order.  MRP Workbench will show the total demand even if split over several orders.

    Regards
