I might to work on Data migration project in D365FO. Earlier I never worked on this.

Kindly guide what things are mandatory to know to work on Data migration.

Hi,

There are already some replies with additional resources for you to go through. Next to knowledge on how to use data management features, you should also prepare yourself with concepts of master data and open transactions and beginning balances.

Technically importing data is one, but knowing what data is required for e.g. open sales orders that are partially received gives some complexity. It is recommended to review a list of data to be migrated. Avoid importing historical data. That is consuming database storage which is not unlimited if you are using the cloud version of Dynamics 365.
