How to simplify the usage of the CRM? With imports?

Posted on by 290

Hi Guys!

I would like to get the second opinion on what do you suggest how to cover scenarios below. I would like to do it as much easy as possible.

- User has one Case and multiple tasks (this is custom entity for example) per case. He would like to change the owner, due dates, some priorities at the same time. I would suggest excel export, manual change and import it back. What do you suggest here?

- User needs to create multiple tasks (this is custom entity for example), assign it to the employees, define Task name, due date, set some checkboxes etc. I would do it with import template from excel. What do you suggest here?

- User has some recurring tasks and he would like to create duplicates (+ some modifications of due dates) of these records. What do you suggest here?

BR,

Miha

RE: How to simplify the usage of the CRM? With imports?

For the first 2 points I would not be exporting and importing to Excel there are far too many risks in the import going wrong (as an example they replace a link to a employee with the incorrectly spelt name of the employee) resulting in part of the import failing.

For the things you suggest I would be looking at using an editable grid for the task entity on the case form and having all the changes and additions made there.

For the final one allow a you need to look at allowing a task to be created from a task using the quick create form. By using the mapping functionality you should be able to duplicate the fields you want to copy...

    Hi Miha ,

    Here is my answers -

    - User has one Case and multiple tasks (this is custom entity for example) per case. He would like to change the owner, due dates, some priorities at the same time. I would suggest excel export, manual change and import it back. What do you suggest here?

Depends on your record size , yes offcourse its better if you have less amount of data then to go for export and import data.

    - User needs to create multiple tasks (this is custom entity for example), assign it to the employees, define Task name, due date, set some checkboxes etc. I would do it with import template from excel. What do you suggest here?

Again your suggestion is correct .

User has some recurring tasks and he would like to create duplicates (+ some modifications of due dates) of these records. What do you suggest here?

I would suggest try to create workflow with wait condition.
