Hi,

We generate SSRS GL Trial Balance reports and export them to Excel. Unfortunately, the numbers do not export into Excel as numbers. Is there a solution to this?

Thanks,

Linda

    Hi,

Unfortunately this is an issue in SSRS.

To overcome this issue; once you are in Excel, mark the columns which should be numeric and replace "," by "," and "." by ".".

    Good luck.

This issue exists when the cell value within SSRS have be formatted and/or has the potential for a null value.

The simplest fix that works 99% of the time is to make the formulas force a number conversion.

Take the SSRS value and add a     =Format(SSRS value * 1.00)

    This is in SSRS.

When exported to Excel, it will format to a number correctly.

Thank you so much - we'll try both suggestions!
