Change the status of the production order to finished

On production order line capacity and output has been posted with using production journal. For some reason item ledger entry was not successful - presumably refreshing production order was not done after production order lines has been changed manually on the released production order. Capacity ledger entries were cancelled by posting output with negative run values. On the production order line the quantity to be produced were changed manually to zero.

New production order lines were entered to post capacity and item ledger entries. New lines was successfully posted.

Now when trying change the status of the production order to finished following popup was generated: "You cannot finish line 5000 on Production Order nn. It has consumption or capacity posted with no output."

How to finish the production order?

    Additional information.

Bin codes are mandatory in all item transactions. In this case, the bin codes have been added to the lines of the production order manually, and possibly the bin code was missing in some of the line data when posting the production order

Manufacturing policy is Make to Order through whole Production BOM.

When trying to change the status from released to finished following pop up is generated:

When answering Yes following pop up is generated

Before status change Production journal posted for the Production Order line 20000. Capacity Ledger Entry was posted OK, but Item Ledger Entry was not generated.

There is only one operation line to be posted.

Could the reason for the Item Ledger Entry not being posted be that the item manufactured was missing location and bin when the production order was opened and some postings were done to the other lines of the  production and Refresh Production functionality to update the changes made manually was not executed?

Output is only posted against the final operation of a Production Order Routing.  So if you have 4 operations and you don't record any Output Quantity on the 4th Operation, nothing is recorded as Output.

It sounds like whatever was posted previously did not post Quantity Output against the final Operation, therefore No Output.  You can either record your actual Output or a single Output and you'll be able to change status to Finished.

If you are worried about duplicating capacity entries, you can Post Output without entering capacity entries at time of posting.

Remember that changing the status to Finished is final, there is no undo at that point, so if you are unsure how the transaction will turn out, spin up a fresh copy Sandbox and test the steps in there.

The issue seems to be that user hasn't put a qty on the output line on the production journal. Please try to populate that field, the production order should be able to be finished.
