Hi community,
In our costing sheet we have to set rates with 4 decimals for our output quantity based absorptions. The system only allows for 2 decimals. While D365 store up to 6 decimals and it is easy to display them via a mod, the amount of testing required to validate the calculation is an issue and a workaround would be preferred.
Has anybody ever encountered that type of situation and if yes, how did you solve the issue? I am interested in your feedback for both the workaround and the modification.
Thank you,
Darec
Hello Ludwig,
We need 4 decimal places because the legacy system allowed for that. By reducing the number of decimal places we would lose precision and over cost the products made.
We want to absorb consumables per pound of quantity produced. The consumables are setup as backflushed items and do not appear on the formula.
I hope this helps.
David

Hello Darec,
Why do you need 4 decimal places?
Are you operating in a country/region that uses a currency that is denominated with 4 decimal places?
Would be great if you could elaborate.
Many thanks,
Ludwig
