Dears,

I have CRM 2016 On-Premise running up smoothly with Claims Authentication & IFD configured properly. I am having problem connecting CRM Outlook Connector to my CRM from my local laptop. However, from many other PCs it is working fine and connecting properly from within Outlook!. I am having errors as follows:

I tried cross checked many things between my laptop and others and they are matching like:

- Outlook Connector version number

- Latest Windows update installed

- Others...

Please help

Thanks in advance

Hilal

    Hello Hilal,

Look like you are getting an Authentication issue.

Is your user configured on Dynamics CRM? Does it has security roles?

    Has your domain password changed?

Might be an UPN issue: have you tried the login with the different options, like username@domain and domain\username?

Is the organization name correct on URL? Are you configuring with internal or external address? Check this KB article: support.microsoft.com/.../3088205

If the issue continues, get Dynamics CRM traces on the Server, you might be able to get more information.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers!

Thanks dear Pedro for your kind response.

I am able to connect from the same laptop using the browser with the same Login/Password

Same Login/Password from other laptops is working fine

Yes organization is correct as I am using it as well in browser and on other PCs and it is working fine

I will check Dynanics CRM traces. Where can I find them on the server?

    Hi Hilal,

Please check your pc/laptop date & time. Please see below-highlighted error.

12:53:37|   Info| Current UTC date/time from windows time server on the internet: 03/31/2018 09:53:36

    12:53:37|   Info| Client UTC Date/Time: 03/31/2018 09:53:37

12:53:37|   Info| Difference (in minutes) between client time and actual time: 0.0101960216666667

Problem: The system clock is incorrect.

Explanation: Having a system clock off by as little as five minutes will create authentication problems, and the Outlook Client will not be able to connect. Both the date and the time needs to match exactly according to the currently set time zone.

Solution: Make sure both the workstation as well as the domain controller it is connected to have the correct time and date.

    Dear Mansoor,

You can notice from the same log I sent you the difference is 0.1 minutes so far less than 5 min

Anyway, i checked as you advised and the time difference between my laptop and my server is less than 1 minute

    Any further ideas?

Does it have anything to do with Microsoft Sign-In Assistant for instance?

    Hello Hilal,

Thank you for providing more details.

Yes, Microsoft Sign-In Assistant can be one of the causes. Is installed and is it running?

Under Services, on the user machine, check if the Microsoft Account Sign-In Assistant service is running.

Also, verify if you have any credentials for the CRM connection already saved on Credential Manager on the user machine, sometimes it tries to use them instead of the ones specified.

In regards to Dynamics CRM Traces, you need to enable them first and reproduce the situation again. Don't leave them enable due to disk space consumption.
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/907490/how-to-enable-tracing-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm

You can always take Fiddler traces as well, on the user machine to see the communication between Outlook and CRM Server.

    Cheers!
