CRM on-premise vs CRM on-line

Hi there,

We are currently on CRM 2016 on-premise version and am looking into the CRM on-line option. As our current on-premise version is highly customised to our needs, what are the pitfalls if any of moving to the on-line option?

    Hi Nuhr,

Did you check latest documentation about Dynamics 365 ?? if not check this, this should help you : www.microsoft.com/.../dynamics-365-online-vs-on-premises-features-faq.aspx

    Here are some other links:www.powerobjects.com/.../upgrading-crm-crm-online-vs-on-premises-finding-the-best-fit-for-your-organization

The main pitfall is if you have any unsupported customisations, then they won't work in CRM online, or you won't be able to import them.

Another consideration is whether you have any plugins and custom workflow activities that have to run outside of the sandbox, as plugins have to run in the sandbox in CRM online.

And another consideration is that you cannot use SQL in reports in CRM Online - you need to use FetchXml, and there are some things you can do in SQL that you can't in FetchXml.

    CRM Experts,

Can you share your experience on migration from on-premise to On-line version particularly if the instance has lot of customizations /large user base.

    Thank you,
