How to use data from an Event in a Customer Journey

In a customer journey for any Event (a dynamics marketing event) there will be a time where we would for example like to send out a reminder 1 day before the event starts, but as I have understood, it's not possible to use any data from the actual event that triggered the journey in the customer journey, am I right about this? Is there any workaround for this because I see it as a very common situation and requirement.

    Hi

You can use the fields from the event/trigger in a customer journey. For instance, you can create a field called "event date" in the trigger. Now in the journey, you can add a "Wait" step, and then choose the "event date" field in that step. See the 2 screenshots below. Does this help?
