Customization on inventory posting profile

Dear All,

I need to modify Inventory posting profile (Add a dimension value), i need to add condition like, in PO if financial dimension matched with financial dimension that is available in Posting profile then system load specify GL account in Accounting distribution (not All, Item, Item group, Category, vendor etc).

Basically in our company budget is calculate on this basis of dimension (on PR, PO and invoicing). Rest of functionalities will be same, like in receiving and invoice posting (might possible need to do modification on invoice as well)

Anyone have any idea ??

Thanks

-Rahat Ali

    Hi,

In the inventory module you have the opportunity to link a site with a financial Dimension.

Wouldn't this already be sufficient and can this standard feature prevent you from making this adjustment?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Ludwig,

Basically we have dimension name 'Work Plan', it is an activity (its has budget value and and we need to check and consume budget for transaction related to work plan) according activity account should be loaded on PR/PO, regardless which item has used.

Can you explain how can i achieved this through linking with dimension ??

    Hi Rahat Ali,

Basically the dimension link that is available under inventory-setup-posting-dimension link, links a site with a financial dimension. Whenever this site is used in a transaction the financial dimension is used.

After I read your additional comment about the work plan, I am not sure if this is really what is required here. Can you help clarifying what a work plan is? Is it an activity in a so-called production route or something else? Do you only use it for PR/POs or also in a production process? Is your work plan activity linked to a service item?

Would be great if you could explain the underlying process a bit more.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig
