I have a business rule to set default price list on an order, it works but you get the annoying "unsaved changes" error message.
Is there any other way of achieving this?

Do you get this every time you open the record? If so, you need to check the value first and only update it when it needs to be changed. Don't know if you could do so with a business rule, but it's possible with JavaScript.
