Why do I get an error when trying to post -> receive a purchase order?

I have been trying to post my purchase order but get an error saying "COGS Account is missing in General Posting Setup Gen. Bus. Posting Group: DOMESTIC, Gen. Prod. Posting Group: RESALE". The only problem is that I copied over from another company all the meta data that I used in the old company and it's the exact same, except for the transactions that did not go over. If anyone can lead me to how and fix this. This is a federal product sale if that helps. Should see the change in the 40100 Chart of accounts.

I cannot explain why your data migration has not worked (or if the problem is in the source data) but the fix is simple.

Navigate to the General posting setup page.

Identify the row where ‘Gen Bus posting group = Domestic AND Gen prod posting group = resale.

    Now find column ‘COGS Account.

The cell where the row and column intersect is empty. Enter the required account code.
