Hi,

Server is giving error 17206 MSCRMPlatform:

The initialization of the CRM authentication pipline execution has failed for org localhost with a sql error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) ---> System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The system cannot find the file specified

It's not possible to access organization in CRM Deployment as it's crashing mmc snap-in and throwing error. SQL server is accessible from other applications and working without giving errors.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Marcin,

can you add a few more details?

    was this ever working before?

is this a CRM install with the Front End and SQL server in different servers?

Where you installing CRM and something the setup was interrupted or finished with errors?

Can you browser the SSRS url from your CRM web server?

Do you have more than 1 database instance on your CRM SQL server?

Did anything change on your Firewall?

    Hi,

Yes, it's been working fine for quite a while. All CRM roles are on one server running W2012R2 including SQL server.

I deployed new instance of CRM and SQL to test database (and/or reinstall system), but after transferring database don't have any data inside CRM system. I restored the same company from SQL backup and all data is there, but the problem is that it's a week old one.

Old server after running for a moment is giving error 17418:

Host SRV.MSCRMAsyncService$maintenance.7db5986b-514e-48b2-ac4c-f2fd1f948057: a config database error occured. Go to SQL server ---> Start --> all programs --> Microsoft SQL ---> Configuration Tools ---> SQL Server configuration Manager

In this expand SQL Server Network Configuration ---> Protocols for MSSQLSERVER(if yours in on instance select that )---> Selecet Named Pipes--> enable it.

    Restart sql service.

Next, on CRM server enable NET>TCP port sharing service.

Turn of all fire wall to see if that is the issue

    Hi Arpita,

We are seeing this issue but SQL server is not on the same server as CRM. Is it worth enabling Named Pipes in our scenario?

    Thanks

Have you checked configdb connection string?

    It is located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MSCRM\configdb
