Hello All,

I'm looking to replace FRX with crystal reports.

Is Crystal reports developer edition is enough for MS Dynamics GP10?

Is there a better solution than crystal reports?

Thanks:

-Depp

Crystal Reports Developer Edition is certainly enough.  However, I am wondering why Crystal Reports rather than Management Reporting or SSRS?  FRx and Management Reporting focus on financial reporting and have some functions specifically designed for financial reporting.

If you are needing general reporting, Crystal is good and I have used it for years and years in a variety of applications.  However, SSRS now comes free with SQL and all you need to do is get it installed and learn how to use it.  SSRS has a number of sharp features and is generally easier to use than Crystal once you get to know it.

I am teaching a class at GPUG Summit on SSRS or you might look at our book on the topic.  Here is a link to our web site for the book:

Crystal Reports is to SSRS as FRx is to Management Reporter. FRx and Managment Reporter are tools to create financial reports(i.e. Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss, etc). Crystal and SSRS are used to create other types of reports but could be used to create financials, if you do not mind spending days, if not weeks, to create them. In today's environment SSRS is the tool of choice as it is part of the SQL package you already own. Plus it create reports available through a browser so there is nothing to install on a client's computer. If it is financial reports you need then Management Reporter is the way to go as MS plans to phase out FRx.
