Client need to change SQL Server sa user name and disable the user

Hi

Client need to change SQL Server sa user name and disable this user and create new user with same credential and use for what sa user is doing.

Is that ok it will not cause any issue for GP and MR. If this is not possible then do have any justification.

Please help me

        We can change sa user name and disable. But make sure you don't have any other processes running in conjunction with GP that depend on SA for execution. Power User does not have all rights in GP as SA does. There are some functions in GP that ONLY the SA can do (run PSTL tools for example).You can Create New user(or Choose Some Other Existing User) assign full SQL SA rights to another user, then you can run PSTL tools also with new user. If you have any Customization just make sure you don't have any hardcoded to be used only by the sa user. After renaming sa, Need to change DSN Credentials and you have to refresh all the databases.

    My Suggestion is You NEVER EVER want to delete SA as it is very difficult to get it back sometimes. From the GP side you can simply disable SA. Create New User Like Administrator and Assign power User Role in GP.Please follow the below link for assigning sql server security related roles. Now the New User Have all the rights like sa. You can use the new user for auditing purpose.

    What about DYNSA user shall we rename the DYNSA also, what is the impact on GP and MR

    You can rename DYNSA and provide Sql Server Security Roles(Which is mentioned in above link).There is no impact on GP and MR.But you have to update all the related tables and under database logins.After renameing DYNSA,you have to reset the password in GP.In GP Company database having default Procedure for Searching string.Take that procedure and execute DYNAMICS databse and search the name like below.

    EXEC SearchAllTablesForString 'DYNSA'
