Purchase Order, Edit in Excel changed, now read-only field for Document No

Hi everyone!

We ran into an issue today that seems to be new since last week. For a certain supplier we have to create an order in their system and then import it into our system. To do that we have the following steps:

  1. Create Po for that Vendor
  2. Add a single product to the PO
  3. 'Edit in Excel'
  4. We add all the lines that we ordered (we have that in an excel, and fill in all required fields)
  5. Publish it back to BC

This has worked fine for months but since the upgrade to 21.0 this stopped working.

We now see that the Document No. is a read-only field so when we press 'publish' it gives this error:

When it then get's reverted and published it comes up with another error saying that the Document No can't be empty:

Any idea how we can fix this? We checked in Excel if we can change the cells to not read-only, but that doesn't work. It seems to be something blocked by BC.

I have the same question (0)

I have a customer having the exact same issue on the sales side.  They cannot publish sales lines back to an invoice because the Doc No field is now read only.  This is likely related to Wave 2 however I can find from MS on this.

    Hi Maddie,

If this is urgent I'd recommend opening a support ticket with Microsoft via your Solution Provider or Business Central Partner. If it is not such an urgent issue then BC 21.1 should become available soon (currently expected on 4/11/22) so it would be worth checking if the problem still happens on that version.

Thanks for your help, the issue seems to be fixed by MS. :)

    Hi, just adding some info.

This issue is discussed below. A partner has already submitted an issue to Microsoft.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
