serial tracking on boxes of 12 items

Hi,

One of our customers has a requirement to be able track serial numbers that are packed in boxes of 12/6 .

work orders are created and RAF for the boxes.

is there a way to do it OOB?

Hi Gill,

Can you tell more details? As you are using the abbreviation RAF, I do assume this is Register as Finished which is related to production orders. Are serialized items being consumed or produced? In case of the finished goods, what is the policy to determine the serial numbers? Do you want to handle the process on the Dynamics 365 client or the warehouse mobile device?

Hi,

The original need of the customer was to be able to track items by serial numbers and manage them in the D365fo system as boxes of 6 and 12.

Customers must be able to scan a barcode of an item purchased from a distributor and authenticate that it was indeed intended to be sold by this distributor.

Good day,

You can assign a serial number group to the released product.

The serial number being generated automatically during the report as finished.

Sure, use advanced warehousing, register the 12 or 6 serial numbers per box and RAF each box as its own license plate. You can do this out of the box, but a mod would make it much easier.
