Scrap type transaction in Manufacturing

Hello,

I would like to know the origin of the transactions of type scrap, if they are generated automatically or manually, if they are automatic at what time.
I also need to know how this type of scrap transactions affect the production order, the WIP, the cost of the product received, the warehouse stock and general ledger.

Thanks!

    Hi Nathaly

I don't know Manufacturing, so I am basing this response of the core Dynamics GP Bill of Materials.

In the Bill Of Materials Maintenance, you can set a scrap percentage against any component item.  This increases the design quantity for that component by the percentage:

When you go to process a transaction, then the new quantity is what is pulled from stock:

For non-manufacturing, this just posts through as journals - removing it from inventory, adding to the cost of the new inventory item.  I don't know what the impact in in manufacturing, but I would say the process of creating those transactions would be in a similar vein.  So hopefully enough to point you in the right direction.  Someone with manufacturing experience may also be able to assist further.

    Cheers

    Heather
