How to create case every month using workflow?

(0) ShareShare

We send bills out to some of our customers on the same day every month and I was wondering if it's possible to create a workflow that creates a case on the same day every month?

Alternatively create a case manually and have it reactivate automatically each month?

    Hi,

    You can use a wait condition in a WF to achieve that. However, it is not suggested. You need a WF scheduler which is mentioned in other comments. You can check them out.

    You can also use Microsoft Flow to schedule CRM WFs.

    Please have a look at these links;

    Hi Kamilcmm

    You could use this workflow scheduling solution to do this github.com/.../latest

    Some details for how it works are in this article josephmcmac.wordpress.com/.../dynamics-365-workflow-scheduler

    For your scenario you would

    1. Create an on demand workflow which contains a step to create the case

    2. After installing the managed solution create a workflow task record which is configured to run the workflow every month

    If you need to create a case for multiple accounts the solution allows you to run the workflow against each record returned by a system view of accounts. Otherwise if you only create one case it allows you to run the workflow against the workflow task record

    Hope this helps

    Hi Kamilcmm,

    This article explains how to execute a workflow once a month by using a Wait Condition on your workflow. You will also need to add a Create Record action to your workflow to create a case record.
