Hi,

The standard Smart List "Prepare a Collection Letter" in Word Drop Down only appears in TWO, Fabrikam and not other companies.

May i know how can i enable that in other companies?

The drop down only shows Prepare a Customer Letter.

Sounds like this is a Security issue, there is a Letter Security Task you will need to find, the Letters are under Product >> Microsoft Dynamics GP, Type >> Letters, Series >> Letters, and you will see the list of letters listed.

Just find where this is assigned and ensure the user for the company has access to the Task and Role.

    Regards,

    Hi Mick,

I was actually using sa user which supposedly has permission to all functionality. But nevertheless, i created a Role as per your suggested task. Unfortunately that did not work as well.

I tried creating a new user and granted the same Task. That did not trigger as well.

This automatically worked in GP2010. But for some reason, this feature is not shown in GP2013.

The Collection Letters are included in Task 'RPT_SALES_006*'

The role 'AR CLERK*' includes this Task.

The details of the 'RPT_SALES_006*' Task is:

Add the  'AR CLERK*' role to your user and, if you haven't changed it, your user should have access to the collection letters.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

Thanks for the guidance. I am actually using POWERUSER. It  works fine in Fabrikam, but not other companies. Permission is indeed granted.

    Suet,

I couldn't find any logical reason for this one at the moment.

If you select the Letters from Reports >> Letter Writing Assistant, or from Cards  >> Sales >> Debtors >> Write Letters can you access the Collection Letter, than this would be the other option.

    Suet,

Once last question, are you using Standard GP Smartlist, or SmartlistBuilder?

We have ran into this before-  Please go to Setup System -  Registration under Microsoft Dynamics GP-  and uncheck the COLLECTIONS box.  Save-  this will now allow you to see the Prepare Collections Letters under Sales Customer- and my favorite letter is the Second Letter-  it shows all of the details for a customer with little effort on your part..
