Hi Experts,

I have an UDE tier 2 environment for D365 Finance and Operations. I m trying to access database through SQL JIT.

I have System administrator access to the Dataverse environment and the Visual Studio 2022 version is 17.10. Power Platform Tools for VS 2022 is installed and the system is restarted.

However, I couldn't see any menu items such as "Connect to Dataverse", "Download Dynamics 365 FinOps assets", "SQL Credential for Dynamics 365 FinOps" under Tools in Visual Studio 2022.

Looks like Power Platform Tools for VS 2022 is not installed properly.

Any pointer to fix this is appreciated.

Hi,

You have to install the all required components and extension(s) for Visual Studio including the Finance and Operations extension, see links below.

Required Visual Studio components

Install and configure development tools

Installed all the required components mentioned in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/dev-tools/developer-tools-vs2017#required-visual-studio-components

Also reinstalled Power Platform Tools for VS 2022.

Still facing the same issue.

Hi Shridhar,

Can you tell what exact component were selected when Visual Studio 2022 was installed?
You have installed the Power Platform Tools for VS 2022 as I can see on your screenshot in the original question. At this moment, the properties can't be loaded due to an error. (An error occuerred loading this property page)

Can you check if the extension is active? Maybe it got disabled by accident or by an internal policy?

Hi Sridhar,

The minimum required components seems to be installed. I haven't seen this behavior before. Is is working correctly on another laptop? Are there maybe some IT policies that is restricting the use of some VS extensions?

Yes all prerequisites are installed; I could create a new Finance and Operations project. But not sure why I couldn't see

any menu items such as "Connect to Dataverse", "Download Dynamics 365 FinOps assets", "SQL Credential for Dynamics 365 FinOps" under Tools in Visual Studio 2022.

New observation is that I couldn't see the project temple "Power Platform Tool Template" but could see project template "Power Platform Solution Template". But if I try to create a project with "Power Platform Solution Template" I m getting below error.

I think I should uninstall VS and reinstall again.

Hi, These options in tools sections (FinOps assets, SQL JIT) becomes available through the Power Platform Tools for VS 2022 extension. I would focus on uninstalling it and doing a fresh installation, ensuring all local paths and VS cache is cleaned up.
