Can't add accounts in Chart of Accounts Maintenance

When trying to add an  account in chart of accounts maintenance, we get this error message.

System Message 6909
---------------------------
Another process has already added the vs_acctxref item.  The program must be terminated.

Note that we can see the account when you go directly into the Chart of Account Maintenance screen. But it is absent when looking at the Master Account List.

RE: Can't add accounts in Chart of Accounts Maintenance

The Account table in the application database is shadowed by the AcctXref table in the system database. The error message is reporting that SL is failing to update the system database.

Normally you can fix synchronization problems for accounts by making a change from the Account Maintenance screen, saving the change, then removing the change and saving again. For example, add 1 character to the description field, save, remove the character, and save again. If that fails, you could delete the stray record from the system database using a SQL query, then add the account back using the Chart of Accounts maintenance which will update both databases. The same logic applies to subaccounts.

If frx was installed, try running the Error 93 scripts to fix the stored procedures. That should resolve the "Another process has already added the vs_acctxref' message.

You may have to force the refresh to the acctXref and subXref by running the stored procedure (enter the appropriate company id):

    exec PP_01260 'CPNYID'

    exec PP_01270 'CPNYID'
