Unable to remove modified form from Customisation Maintenance

Hello

There seems to be a bug in the data in the Customisation Maintenance window. There appears to be a number of modified forms in there that don't exist.

I have gone into modifier and deleted all modified forms but when I open Customisation Maintenance window they still appear in there. I am unable to export them as I get the error (attached) 'Form xxxx not found'.

I have recreated the forms.dic file, but it looks like the data the Customisation Maintenance window shows is not stored here. I have tried to run SQL profiler when opening Customisation Maintenance window with no luck.

I have also tried to recreate this form as a modified forms, made any change and saved it, then deleted it from modifier (to try to 'reset' it), but it still remains in Customisation Maintenance.

I don't want to leave this here, I am trying to align a number of servers so all reports and forms match.

Thanks

I realize that, I was simply trying to bring you back to a starting point where there should be no forms, If you are still seeing forms they must hiding is some other dictionary. Do you have any third-party products? What would happen if you did a fresh installation of GP on another computer of only GP? I would compare that DYNAMICS.SET to the one you have currently. Then, one by one, remove products from your current DYNAMICS.SET file until you find the offending product. Can you send us a screenshot of your Customization Maintenance window as well as your DYNAMICS.SET?

Hello, I have figured it out. Although I had removed the modified form, the VBA on the window was still set to Event Mode: Modified Only, so when I exported the package file for the 'Form with VBA', the package file still had a reference to a modified window and imported into the other environment as a 'Modified Form with VBA' which was corrupt.

    Thanks

    Hi Tania,

i think you need to check on the DYNAMICS.SET FILE as Richard said to see if its actually pointing on the forms.dic that you already deleted.

also is that a one PC problem?

Hi Richard, thanks for the response.

In the above post I said 'I have recreated the forms.dic file, but it looks like the data the Customisation Maintenance window shows is not stored here.'

To elaborate on what I meant, is, even with no forms.dic file the Customisation Maintenance window still holds all these corrupt forms. It does not appear where it is loading this data from is stored in the forms.dic.

    Thanks

I would start by looking at your DYNAMICS.SET FILE and make sure you are pointing to the correct FORMS.DIC. If it is in a shared location I would move it locally and then go to Edit Launch File and point GP to the local copy. Exit GP and relaunch. Then I would rename the FORMS.DIC file and relaunch GP. Do you see any of these modified forms? If you do not, then I would rename it back, export out package files of only the forms you want to keep, rename the FORMS.DIC and relaunch GP and import them one by one until only the ones you need remain. Once this is completed you can put it back into the shared location and Edit Launch file to point to the shared location. If you have any code along with these forms you might want to check your DYNAMICS.VBA file.
