Access Denied Outlook Add-in (Outlook 2013 + Office 365 + Dynamics CRM Online 2013)

Hi all,

I do have some Trouble getting the CRM Outlook Add-In work. Here some information about  the things I already tried.

Direct Login with a browser works fine. User seems to be valid an activated. If I try to setup my organisation with the CRM Configuration Assistant I always get with Login data form the same user I get the message "Access Denied".

Any die ideas?

    but the test connection during the installation process works?

    Hi Marco,

    unfortunately the test connection doesn't work. Only the web Login seems to work fine.

    Maybe I should mention, that we do not have a active directory integration with Office 365 in that case.

    So all users are "cloud users" but they belong the security Group that is also mapped to the crm instance in the Office 365 Setup Panel.

    I also tried to delete all credential information that are associated the active Windows 8 user. and i also tried to logon to windows with the same user that has access to Office 365 and CRM with the same resulte. Login via Web-Interface works fine. Login via CRM Outlook Add-In is rejected during the test connection.

    Hello Michael,

    This happens only when:

    • Dynamics CRM Online is used on the Office 365 Platform.  

    • The user name on Office 365 uses multi-byte characters, such as Japanese or Korean.

    Try changing the profile for the Office 365 user to English language and let me know if it helps us.

    I'm sorry. This seems to be not the issue. My usernames do not have any multi-byte characters. Used characters are A-Za-z and . (dot). Any other ideas?

    Hi,

    I have exactly the same configuration and same problem.

    Tried everything but I am not able to login with the Outlook plugin.

    The funny thing is that in our company everyone has been able to login, I am able to login on my desktop computer, but on the notebook it doesn't work.

    Both computers have the same configuration: Win 8.1 64-bit Office 2013.

    One more comment.

    In the configuration window when I click on test connection it finds the correct organization and user, so the OK button gets enabled.

    Only when I click on the OK button I get the following error message.

    Windows 8.1 has not been tested and is not supported with this release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013. You can try configuring CRM client for outlook on Windows 8 and see if that works.

    Hello Satish,

    is this the best you can do? You needed almost 10 days to tell me to remove Windows 8.1, install Windows 8.0, and "see if that works". You are sarcastic right?

    Let me understand, Microsoft Dynamics is not compatible with Microsoft Windows 8.1 that is out since almost two months. Many developers have updated their applications to work with Windows 8.1 months ago, working on the beta release that you have released.

    Sorry but this is just not acceptable and the whole Dynamics team should be fired.
