I have a calculated field with nothing set as the condition and the action set to this:
Set License Day Count to DiffInDays(Current Date, License Expires On). If I have a real time workflow set to be triggered on change of that field, would I have to manually open the record to get the workflow to trigger? Or will it be triggered with the date changes and ultimately changes the value of "License Day Count" field. Or would I have to trigger a workflow on record create and add a wait step?

I like your suggestions. I will be using a recurring workflow, using the solution CRM2016-workflowscheduler_1_1_0_0, and check the License Day count daily.
Hi Maustin,
The update of calculated field doesnt trigger update workflow.
You can have a workflow written for change of "License Expires On" but not on "License Day Count".

It seems like you need a daily job to check the Day Count. So your last option of adding wait step seems more feasible.
Something like this:

Thanks,
