Could we use a service item with item model group configured as non stocked product to create BOMs (bill of materials)

Hello, Community,

I have a question : Could we use a service item with item model group configured as non stocked product to create BOMs (bill of materials)? in fact when I try to associate an item service (with item model group configured as non stocked product) to a BOM, I get this error message  : "An item cannot be associated with a BOM if it is associated with an item model group where the attribute Stocked product is not selected."

I'm using BOMs for purchase orders.

I'm not sure if there is an explanation or a solution for this?

Could you please help me with this,

Thank you in advance,

    Good day Iheb,

Can you check the Stocked product field in the Costing method & cost recognition of the Model group Non Stocked, please?

    Best regards,

    LG

    Hi Iheb Ben Ahmed,

You can refer to this thread, it mentioned the same error as yours.

How to Add the converted non-stocked item to BOM lines in AX 2012? - Microsoft Dynamics AX Forum Community Forum

    Hello, Lieu,

Thank you for the follow-up, I have tried to check the Stocked product, but I got this message :

The attribute Stocked product cannot be changed if there are products associated with the item model group.

I have already tested adding a service item (with an item model group configured as stocked product) to  BOM lines and it worked well, But in my case, I'm trying to use a service item as non-stocked,

    Thank you, Lieu,

    Hi Ahmed,

A bill of materials (BOM) defines the components that are required in order to produce a product. The components can be raw materials, semi-finished products, or ingredients

That is the reason why it is not accepting a service item that uses Item Model Group with Non Stocked item parameter

    I hope this helps
