Adding or editing Matrix items - Very Slow

When we edit or add Matrix items RMS responds very slowly. It takes at least 2 minutes for the screen to pop up to add or edit. Is any one else seeing this issue or is Matrix working fast for you

HQ on Server 2003
Windows XP SP3

PS this is supposed to be a monitored email address so I should get a response from any Microsoft employess if not please tell me Microsoft is not monitoring my email address.

    Microsoft have you stopped monitoring customers posts that have a maintenance plan? I need a little help, just a simple reply, from anyone, let me know if your Adding and Editing Matrix items is slow or normal to you.

    We haven't heard of anything from our clients.

    Just for grins, have you run a re-index and then a database check in SO Admin?

    SO Admin | File | Connect, enter your password | Database | Re-index, then | Database | Check

    Backup First!!

    I backed up, re indexed, and checked database, no errors. Still very slow, even when logged in on Server when trying to add a Matrix. This does not occur on Lot Matrix. Only happens editing or adding Standard Matrix items.

    Good morning Darrin,

    Sorry for the delay in responding and thank you for posting about an issue with matrix items; and thank you Jeff for posting something for him to check.

    Check to see if "Show previously defined Item Sub Descriptions" is enabled in Manager | File | Configuration | Options | Item Options.

    If it is try unchecking it to see if the issue persists.

    By un-Checking "Show previously defined Item Sub Descriptions" in HQ Manager | File | Configuration | Options | Item Options. The problem is Temporarily fixed.  I am assuming that Microsoft is aware of this problem. We need to use that option, we use it to select predefined manufacturer names.

    So as a work around I guess I have to uncheck every time before adding or editing Matrix's.The re-enable after done.

    How do I request Microsoft fix this in a Hotfox or update?

    I'm glad that resolved the issue.

    As far as a fix a request has been entered; but we do not know if/when this may be resolved.

    The fix, was released on July 13. but Do not solve nothing. I still have this problem with a customer. when you press button property over any matrix item, it take as long as 2 or 3 minutos to show property.

    Good afternoon Fernando,

    Thank you for posting about the below issue:

    "You experience an unexpected wait time when you try to open a matrix item when the "Display list of previously-defined Item Sub Descriptions" option is enabled. "

    In testing, I verified that it took 90 seconds to open a matrix item on build 2.0.0155.

    I then installed Hotfix 31 (build 2.0.0166); and verivied in Administrator | Help | About that my version showed as 2.0.0166.

    I then opened the same matrix item and it took less than 10 seconds.

    If you are still seeing issues I would recommend that you make a backup; and try running Database | Check and Database | Reindex.

    Please let me know if this helps; and if not can you let me know:

    1. How big is the database?

    2. Is this Store Operations or Headquarters?

    3. Does this occur on all workstations?

    4. What OS are you running?

    You had me turn off Show previous items in subdescriptions after this fix can we turn that feature back on?

    The show previous items in sub descriptions was turned of and of after this fix, but the fix do not solve nothing. Todd do you have an email to send you all my tests, including sql server profile tracery and query used by rms in this action, database size, item count total, item matrix count, etc. thanks. !
