Josh,
The Alternate Vendor Address Code are like Vendor Ship-From's. When a Vendor has multiple plants that can ship the goods to you you select the Alternate Vendor Address to denote which facility its coming from.
As for hiding Warehouse, have you tried to Customize the Ribbon on the Page? If you click the BLUE dropdown arrow all the way to the left you will see Customize/Ribbon.

If you have a developer license, simply go in page designer open page action pat and do visible false for this button. I hope you can understand it.
