Email Accounts - Shared Mailbox error

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 12
Setting up an Email Account to connect to a Shared Mailbox. All Business Central users have been given the relevant permissions to the Shared Mailbox. However, in some instances we are receiving the following error:

LicenseServiceFatalException. Exception details : Gone - error returned. Response body: /AADSTS50158: External security challenge not satisfied. User will be redirected to another page or authentication provider to satisfy additional authentication challenges. Trace ID: (Removed Guid) Correlation ID: (Removed Guid) Timestamp: 2023-11-17 09:27:48Z/.

It isn't 100% certain yet but when the user running the job queue was connected to the office network the Job Queue would send emails just fine, but when the user was outside of the office it failed.

Users all have Exchange Licenses. The users do have MFA but the Shared Mailbox does not.

    Hi Sir,

Please follow the steps provided below:

    - Explicitly sign out of business central (not just closing the browser window)

    - Clearing all cookies, closing all browser windows.
    - Sign in again, which should prompt for MFA.
    - You can also try using a private browser session.

If this doesn't work, the tenant admin should try to revoke MFA sessions from the Azure portal for the user having issues.

After revoking sessions, you should follow the same steps above.

As a final mitigation if the above still doesn't work, the tenant admin should try to "Require re-register multifactor authentication" instead of just revoking the MFA sessions, which would cause the user to need to setup their MFA again.

Then you should once again follow the steps above (sign out, etc.)

    Best Regards,
    Judy
