Customized screen flashes on load

Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services

DSL 6.5 SP1

We have a highly customized Project Maintenance screen PAPRJ00.  Whenever it loads the screen itself, the Parent application, and the Windows desktop all flash repeatedly and obscenly.  We call it the seisure screen b/c it gives you a seisure if you look at it while that screen loads.  The flashing lasts for like 13, 14 seconds until the screen finishes loading.  It is extremely annoying.  Anyone have any ideas about how to stop this?

We had that same issue with our Solomon 6.5 sp1 OM screen.  It too was heavily customized.

We never did figure it out.  If it's any consolation, the flashing goes away in 7.0 Fp1... however, given how extremely unstable we've found 7.0 FP1 to be (every screen with a grid crashes thanks to a still unresolved bug), I wouldn't recommend anyone upgrade to it- especially if you have highly customized screens.

We are just in the beginning stages of planning for the upgrade to 7.0. We were also planning to install FP1. Do you have more info on the bug you mentioned? :)

ID 19280 and Hot Fix request 2261

In every screen that has a Solomon grid we get a Bulletproof 20007 that kicks the user out of the screen.  Unfortunately, the problem did not show up during our initial testing, and we spent more than two weeks with support indicating that it must be our customizations because they couldn't duplicate the error.  We have 60+ user system and I get reports of about 30 times per day (usually with one of our customers on the phone... so not cool)

The recommendation from support so far has been to not use the mouse in grid screens.  That doesn't work for us and users report getting the error even when not using the mouse.

No ETA on a hotfix.  Support has not been very supportive.

I would recommend service packing 6.5 to maintain "support" since 6.5 sp1 is no longer supported.

Just my recommendations based on my experience with 7.0 FP1.

I thought it only fair to add that we received our hot fix on Friday, and our grids now work.

The key remaining issues I have had with 7.0 FP1 are that speed and response time (screen loads and data searching) seem to be much slower.  Customization are a bit touchy.  Otherwise, so far, so good.

Great. The two biggest issues finance has with the current application. That's encouraging. :|
