We are a small (300 employees) healthcare organization, currently on GP 9.0. We are trying to figure out how to get our system to calculate a correct overtime rate on a weekly basis. We use Kronos, and are about to start an upgrade process with them. I've seen it suggested that it is possible, but we haven't found anyone who is knowledgeable about both and could show us how to do it. We would appreciate any suggestions...Thank you.

Hi Sandra (& Wayne)!
So you want to be make sure you get your employee's hours on a weekly basis so that you can calculate your blended OT rate (or "weighted average OT") correctly, right? That OT rate calculation should happen in your payroll system, but you absolutely need to get the hours out of Kronos on a weekly basis instead of summarized for your whole pay period.
The good news is that you can definitely get hours of Kronos with that level of summarization. Kronos has an interface tool called Connect (rebranded "WIM" in v6.1) that by default can give you records either summarized for the pay period or broken out for each day. But you can build the interface to give you the time records summarized for each individual week. (I've done this myself a bunch of times for people!)
If this is something that you'd like me to help you with, whether it is just working with you in Connect/WIM or helping with the whole upgrade, please let me know! My contact info is below.
Also, you might be interested in the following resources for Kronos customers. The first is a forum of Kronos users on Yahoo! that is strictly moderated (so no sales or spam!) but has good participation with questions and answers from Kronos customers. You can see the forum at: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/kronos-fans/.
Also, on my company's website, we have a Kronos-related blog that our senior experts will frequently post entries about Kronos topics - everything from general concepts like change management to specific healthcare scheduling related topics (my speciality!). So check that out at http://www.improvizations.com/kronosblog.
Hope that helps & I'll look forward to hearing from you about the time record interfaces.

Hi Wayne,
For this question, I would try the Newsgroup microsoft.public.greatplains to see if anyone there has experience.
You could also contact Kronos Incorporated, to see what info they have.
