error with customernumber length while creating sales invoices

We have some customers in dynamics who have 12-digit customers

when we try to create an invoice for sales orders for these customers, the creation of an invoice fails.

Is there any limit on the customer-number(AccountNum) field in custTable?

Customer Account limit size is 20 characters, what is the error that you have?

Hi,

I don't think so there is any relation of generating invoice based on customer account number sequence lenghth.

Unless you are having any customization where you are picking invoice number sequence based on customer account.

In general Dynamics supports total 20 lenghth for any sequenece , out of which 10 can be your running number and rest your prefix/suffix

The customer account numbers we are using are 10-digit numeric numbers like below.

3234567890

when trying to generate an invoice for the sales order for the customer we get the below error. After checking different scenarios, I identified that the issue was because of the customer account number length. If the customer account number is less than 10-digit numeric numbers then the generation of an invoice works fine.

The customer account number standard size is 20 !

We do not have any customization on the customer account number field.

customer creation works fine with customer account numbers with 10 or bigger digits.

The issue happens only when we try to generate an invoice from a sales order for these customers.

Is it a limitation in Dynamics with sales invoice creation, that the sales invoice table has a different data type length for the customer account number than then customer account number in custTable?

In that case I would suggest to restore database to any dev VM and debug this.
