Approval Workflow Bug - Not showing previous step comment in Approval Email

Greetings,

I have a client that has reported that the Workflow Approval Email he receives as an approver does not display the comment from the previous approver, only the one before the previous one.

As an example, we set them up with a Purchase Requisition Workflow that has 3 approval levels. When the Requester submits the requisition, the Approver #1 receives the workflow email but without the comment typed in by the Requester just before hitting the Submit button. Once Approver #1 approves, Approver #2 receives the email with the Requester comment but not the comment by Approver #1.  Once Approver # 2 approves, Approver # 3 receives the email with the comments from the Requester and Approver #1, but not the comment by Approver # 2.  Obviously this represents a problem, because the next approver lacks the information from the previous step that might be important to determine whether to approver or reject...

My client is on GP 2016 but i've replicated it on GP2018 on a local environment at my company with the exact same results, which may lead me to believe this is a bug. Anyone experienced this or happen to know about a possible workaround??

Thanks!!!

Our customer is having this same issue on vendor approval workflow.  Step 1 is validation where that approver calls the vendor to verify their banking info, etc. and has to type into their approval comments so that the final approvers will see them.  But the final approvers (Step 2) only see the original comment from the submitter.  Did you find anything else on this?  Thanks!

    Hello,

Unfortunately no.  There's nothing on this and it seems nobody else has reported it or tested it.  It has to be a flaw/bug that apparently nobody has noticed.  To my client, it is a big deal to see the previous step's comment, particularly because it gives visibility on who approved the previous step.

Hopefully someone responds and gives us a solution!!!
