Creating & posting transaction restriction of multiple persons

Dear Members,

I have a requirement where there are three users: User 1, User 2, and User 3. User 1 is required to create a journal but should not have the capability to post it. User 2 needs the ability to post the journal but is not allowed to create one. User 3 should have the permissions to both create and post the journal. How can this be implemented for both the invoice and the journal? Please help me to achieve this

Thanks in advance,
Sneha

The other users are correct, you can use permissions to achieve this.

    Hello,

As mentioned by YUN ZHU, you can make sure of permissions set.

You need to create three different Permission Sets and assign them to the users respectively.

You can make use of Table ID: 81 (Gen. Journal Line) to limit User 2 from inserting/deleting.

As for User 1, you might want to try Codeunit: 231(Gen. Jnl.-Post) instead.
Codeunit: 12(Gen.Jnl-Post Line) is required when posting documents, if this is not the concern then I think either codeunit should works.

Sorry I haven't tested it, but I think this can be done with permissions.
    User 1:
    User 2
    User 3:
    No restrictions

    PS:

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi Sneha,

For Invoice you can check Sales Invoice Posting Policy in user setup.

For your requirement to General Journal - You will have to customize as it done for Sales Invoice Posting Policy in User setup.

I am keeping this for a future video that I will do as it comes in schedule.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,
    Saurav Dhyani
