Have a scenario where the certain deductions are taken the first pay period of the month. This is done because the typical schedule would be to work 14 days then off 14 days. Occasionally, employees will work back to back shifts and receive multiple pay checks in the month. Is there any way to configure to maximum deduction to be for a monthly pay period vs. a payroll period (which is 2 weeks). We were going to setup multiple deductions and disable then on the build batch configuration but that does not work efficiently because employees are still caught in a scenario where they already paid or worked the second shift only.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Thank you Douglas, right now, we are in the process of testing removing the customization, and using diferent default build ID's. It will be nice to have this as a feature on the standard package.
I am thinking that under build checks, have two seperate 'Default Ids'. Have one ID for the first pay period of the month and that ID includes the deductions you wish to take, and then a second one that does not include those deductions. I can see problems with having monthly maximums (what what months that might have 3 paychecks generated) because payroll is driven by when the check is written (although the build process uses the user defined date and not the check date - which is why we always change it).
Hi Terry,
It will be really nice if Microsoft could add a monthly maximum amount to the standard package, like it was done with the calendar, and fiscal year max. We have a monthly max customization, and it's creating us more issues than benefits.
Hi David,
This is Terry from Microsoft, nice to see you in the forums! This is a nice functionality add to have a monthly maximum, but we do not have it. I have done some customizations with different maximums and deductions and looking at what has been taking in history as well. If you are interested in more detail around that or feel the effort is large enough where you want a customization, send me an email and I can provide you more detail.
Thanks
Terry Heley
