MTD Production

Hi,

I have a client due to go live soon and I had some questions I had around MTD (I haven’t taken a client through to Production for MTD yet)

1. In Sandbox, when creating a new VAT obligation for the next period, I must delete the previous submission to be able to submit a new one. This would not be practical in Production as the client would need to be able to see all historic MTD submissions.

Is it possible to create a VAT obligation request for the next period without deleting the old one in Production or is there another workaround for this?

2. How do I obtain the production credentials?  and how long in advance should I be doing this from go live?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

    1. Yes, it is possible to create a VAT obligation request for the next period without deleting the old one in production.

    2. Please find the below link which explains how to obtain production credentials:

    Thanks,

    Sheela

Hi Mia - Can you give more detail on how you are completing multiple test submissions? Once I've completed one I cannot complete another. Even if I delete all the obligation requests all I can do is create new VAT Obligations requests but none result in a New VAT return line being created. Would really appreciate a response.

    Hi James,

You need to create a new test user  and add the VAt number on Electronic message processing and authorize the web application with new user id and password and then try to create new obligation.

    Thanks,

    Sheela

    Hi James,

The 2 options that worked with me are:

1 -  delete submitted lines - basically delete all your line for the previous submission, If the line can not be deleted set the parameter to allow delete in the Message item statuses setup.

2 - Generate new test user login details, update your vat number and reset the HMRC connection for you to submit s 2nd submission.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

    Mia

Just to add to the above, the issue with generating a the next submission only happens in Sandbox. In Production you are able to submit as normal.

Thanks Mia and Sheela for both responses - I'll give the first option a go, it would be a real pain to create a new test user every time I want to do a test submission as I'd like to test this multiple times.
