Sending emails to external users using Workflow

I am developing a product for retail store using dynamics CRM 365. I am in a situation where I wish to send emails to external users ( who are customers not licensed users) . Is it possible to send automated emails to external users ( I know we can define the template to be sent)? How can this be done from within the phone to case business process?

Prior to this I have developed workflows in SharePoint, where I used to send emails to licensed users (Not external users.)

Note: I have no experience in CRM Dynamics.

    Hi Mohd,

OOTB, Dynamics 365 provides an action in workflows called "Send Email". You can create your external customers as a Contact or Account record and configure as recipients in your Send Email action. No licence required to send emails to Contacts and Accounts. The workflows can be triggered on demand or on a field change or can even be scheduled.

    Below article explains the steps.

RE: Sending emails to external users using Workflow

Hi Mohd, Dynamics will only allow you to send emails to entities that are email enabled, and the email will be sent to the entity records primary email address. The default Email enabled entities are lead, contact, account...however you can also create a custom entity and enable it for emal in the entity customisations. However there is no reason why you cant use the contact entity to store your external users, you can create a type field to also help you identify the contact type.

Yes as mentioned above you can also use workflows to send emails using the send email action, as long as the recipient and primary email is stored in a valid email entity

    Hope that helps :)
