Integration Salesforce with D365 FO

Hi Team.

I am working on an integration of D365 FO with Sales force and would like to understand if there is any std Microsoft / Sales force document which provides the mapping of the common entities like Sales order or customer entites.

I think there are lots of companies working on integrating D365 FO with Sales force and there might be some templates/mapping documents already available in the market,

Can you please help me with those docs or links or any other ways acceptable ?

Thanks,

VK

    Hi Vicky1234,

This is a fair ask. I hope someone else would be able to help you. Microsoft themselves did not write such integration whitepaper. I also did not do such integration myself before.

We (in conjunction with UK System Integrator Tisski) coded up two integrations with Salesforce using the Azure Integration Services Salesforce Connector, LogicApps and Dataverse. One to store our Product catalogue (to include various parameters like revenue recognition settings, cost centres and main account codes per service) and another to pass over sales orders to D365FO. However, we put this on hold after several mergers and acquisitions, electing to first combine three different Salesforce instances (and one other niche CRM product) into one instance before restarting the integration work.

We had planned to feed customer address and finance dept contact details in a future iteration but hadn't done it before our project stall.

FWIW we were using Azure LogicApps at the time as the Salesforce integration had been out for 3 years and was considered to be "enterprise grade" reliable; we'd had feedback that nuances were still being worked out of the standard Dataverse connector used with Power Automate and PowerApps at the time. However, that's probably a workable and reliable route now. Some of my colleagues are looking to implement a connection using Mulesoft, but we're in our early days with that at the moment.

We're also told that there's an Outlook add-on called "Viva Sales" that integrates Outlook with Salesforce contacts coming shortly (it's in the latest public roadmap).

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Ian and Andre for your comments.

I think I might have to do it myself however just wanted to check if there is a portal where we can request Microsoft for common requests like this which Microsoft can release in the near future.

    Hi Vicky,

There is an ideas portal where you can check for an existing idea and vote up or create a new idea: Ideas (dynamics.com)
