New Person entity - Full Name issue

 Hi there,

I am using the online version of the CRM 4.0.

I have created a new entity based on a person and the full name is the primary attribute.

I would like to generate the full name field using the first name and last name (contact entity does the same).

I specially need it because in the search field lookup view, we can see only the primary attribute.

Anyone know how I could make it possible?

    Hi Vincent,

You can configure the 'quick search' to search on additional fields instead of just the default primary attribute field.  I Think this would solve your issue.

    Hi Alex,

I m looking for the modification of attributes for this page.

I can not see this form in the forms and views of the new entity.

I could make the full name on the primary attribute using the workflow.

I think the JavaScript code of defining the the dafault value in OnLoad and OnChange will work. Workflow also adapts to your question.

But honestly I don't know if MS CRM Online allows the customization by the clients.

    Hi,

You can do this via JavaScript by adding an event on the OnChange of Firstname and Lastname and / or on the Form OnSave event.

The script could look something like this:
    crmForm.all.fullname.DataValue = crmForm.all.firstname.DataValue + " " + crmForm.all.lastname.DataValue;

You could also achieve this with workflow, but this will be done asynchronously so will not appear immediately in the fullname field

You may want to consider adjusting the contact entity to meet your needs rather than creating a completely new entity.
