Approval User Setup -- salesperson/purchase user ID does not exist

Hi:
 
Upon trying to request an approval for a Purchase Invoice, the error message shown below appears.
 
How do you know what to fill in, within the Approval User Setup window for this column, so that this error doesn't appear?

    Hi, It looks like your Approver Type is Salesperson/Purchaser, which requires the settings shown in the second screenshot.

    to be able to use workflow, a user needs to be populated on the approval user setup page first. You could check out that page and fill in missing information.
