Additional Options when tracking emails from Outlook

Posted on by 240

Hello all,

Is there any option to add additional options when tracking emails from Outlook? For instance, if I am tagging emails to the account entity, can I set an option for a category (custom field) directly from Outlook?

Thank you.

    Hello Nya.

This was a very helpful response. However, I was wondering if it is possible to select an option from an option set field when tagging in Outlook.

For example; in my Account table, I have an option set field called Category. So when I am tagging a particular email in Outlook to that account, I want to be able to choose a category for that email (And that category is the option set field in Accounts) -

When I am tagging in Outlook, all I see is the quick view card (Which you have pointed above how to manage) - but there is no option to make any changes to those fields from outlook itself. Is that possible?

    Hi, Aneeqa

You can add it into the following form of Account entity.

Go to Advanced Settings > Settings > Customizations > Customize the System.

It controls the first component (Regarding) of the Tracking pane.

And of course, if the email is regarding to another entity, the App for Outlook Card of that entity should be modified.

In addition, here is an article about the interface of Tracking pane.

The Contact form of the Recipients can be set in the App for Outlook Contact Card form.

The Account form of the Recipients can be set in the App for Outlook Contact Quick View form.

After editing and publishing the forms which you want to add custom fields into, reload the pane please, then you’ll get the option for your category in Outlook.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nya
