Map data from opportunity product custom field to quote details custom field

Issue:

I want to map custom fields to quote details from Opportunity product, when I create a quote.

Relationship mapping: https://archive.codeplex.com/?p=crm2011entitymaps this looked to be exactly what I need but the solutions isn't available anymore.

I checked also: https://www.inogic.com/blog/2012/12/add-mapping-for-custom-attribute-of-order-product-to-invoice-product/

But I can't found the ID's with the URL for D365 version 9.0
SourceEntityName = ‘opportunityproduct’ and TargetEntityName = ‘QuoteDetail’

So could someone help me to create the URL?  Or maybe have an other solution for mapping the custom fields

    Hello Hilde,

Take a look at the XrmToolBox ( https://www.xrmtoolbox.com ) a great multi tool for all things Dynamics 365.

This tool has a plug-in called 'Your Entity Attribute Mappings - Customized', which allows you to do what the 'crm2011entitymaps' solution used to do.

    1. Open the XrmToolBox
    2. Click 'Connect' and connect to Dynamics 365
    3. Open the plug-in called 'Your Entity Attribute Mappings - Customized'

      • If it's not visible you can install it via the 'Plugins store' in the 'Tools' menu

Once you're in the 'Your Entity Attribute Mappings - Customized' panel:

    1. From the column on the left ('Source'), choose 'Opportunity Product'
    2. From the second column ('Target') choose 'Quote Product'
    3. Click the green (+) icon to add a mapping

    4. In the pop-up, select your custom field on 'Opportunity Product' from the list on the left ('Source Entity Fields')
    5. Then select your custom field on 'Quote Product' from the list on the right ('Target Entity Fields')
Make sure that these fields are exactly the same type and size!
    6. Click 'OK'

Hope this helps you get started. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Hello, I've just found this post which is very helpful. I was wondering what happens if my field does not show up after clicking the green plus button?

    Hello Michel,

I have solved the problem discussed in this thread with your help using the xrm toolbox.

At this point I would like to thank you!

But I have another question. If I use the crm toolbox for a mapping in the dev stage, how can I include the mapping in a patch to transfer it to QA/Prod?

    Many thanks!

    Best regards Niklas

For anyone following these instructions, we used this solution and the new mappings were included in the solution XML when we deployed to a different environment. I think you would need to publish the customisations first (after adding the mappings) and include both entities in the solution for the mappings to be included.
