Dynamics 365 App for Outlook will no longer support Internet Explorer

How is this going to work as the Dynamics App for Outlook requires Internet Explorer and does not work with Chrome or Edge? Will they be releasing a new version. What about on-premise users?

    Hi,

You need to setup Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge.

"Commercial IT pros will need to set up IE mode in Microsoft Edge to enable access to legacy IE-based sites and apps for their commercial users."

Please refer to Microsoft blog: techcommunity.microsoft.com/.../2366549

I don't get it. I enabled IE mode via Group Policy as described in that article and added the site to the site list xml. When I try to browse to the site, I get a msg in Edge saying that Internet Explorer can't be found. Do I need Internet Explorer to be installed in order to use IE mode in Edge. Isn't the whole point to be able to uninstall Internet Explorer completely?

Welp, the prerequisites for IE Mode in Edge requires "Internet Explorer 11 enabled in Windows Features." Isn't the whole point to get rid of IE altogether? I thought it was a security risk?
