how can i access in remote place?

I need your help.

This is what i did.

1. I checked static ip pos system computer in my store. ex) 11.22.33.44

2. I checked internal ip pos system computer in my store. ex) 192.168.1.5

3. I set up port forwarding in router connected to pos system.

    port number : 34202     forwarding 192.168.1.5

4. I turned off fire wall in pos system.

5. finally, I tried to access my store pos system from my home.

    after I set up "server name" as a static ip(11.22.33.44) in store operation administrator configuration.

but i cannot access from my home through store operation.

What is the problem? please let me know.  thank you..

    Hello Usmnhr,

    Please note that Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations POS is not designed for remote access such as this.

    An easier way to access this would be to set up a remote sessions from your computer to one at work, and then while streamed in you can access RMS that way.

    you need to port forward the sql server port.  Default is 1433 and 1434.  

    I recommend that you don't do that.  Instead use a remote access software will logmein to access the store.  These are more secure and less open to attack.

    Ensure that your home router and the router at the location are capable of communicating along the same Ports that Microsoft RMS requires.

    Additionally, it may be the better option to use a VPN to link your store's LAN with your computer at Home.
