SL 2011 Migration from SL 7 BI.BAM.00

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am curious if others have run into this issue.

A user is attempting to test out their everyday duties in SL 2011, and is using the "Invoice and Adjustment Maintenance" (BI.BAM.00) screen and tries to preview the report generated before printing, however she receives this error, (as do other users including the administrative user.)

Dialogue box title: "Crystal Reports Windows Forms Viewer."

Text: " Failed to open the connection.
Failed to open the connection.
BI020 {UUID-STRING}.rpt"

If you have run into this error or have a suggestion. please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

The report was not customized, what I needed to do was re-establish the database connections for the report.

    Hi Ray,

Is the report customized?  If so, can you go into the usr_rpts folder and rename the customized version then test the standard version of the report?  If the standard version works, my first suggestion would be to open your customized version in crystal and reset your datasource location.
