Consolidation posting layer.

Dear Experts,

When consolidates, is it possible to select posting layer? Or will consolidated to one layer in Consolidation company?

    Hi MMMMFU,

    It's not possible to select layers during the Consolidation process.

    The system will transfer all layer's transactions to Consolidate company.

    Why do you need the selection?

    Can you please explain the requirement?

    HI,

    All posting layers are consolidated when the consolidation is processed.

    Also, only operating balances are consolidated. Therefore, to see opening balances you must still run a year end close in consolidation company.

    Hi All,

    Thank you very much for your replies.

    What our requirement is,

    Headquarter company is managing only Current Layer as USGAAP.

    But one of subsidiary company would like to manage current account as JGAAP, and manage USGAAP in Operation layer.

    When consolidate these 2 companies into Consolidation company (whose posting layer is same as headquarter company), what will happen for subsidiary's operation layer?

    Seeing everyone's reply, it seems all the layer's data will be transferred to Consolidation company.

    So if Headquarter management would like to see accounting data in USGAAP in Consolidation company, they don't need to care about Posting layer, but need to include every layer?

    Hope this makes sense.

    Hi There,

    What you would like to see at the end of the process?

    Consolidated company's Statment in US Gapps?

    If this is the requirement, you don't have to worry.

    Just follow the process:

    1. Consolidate Online for both Companies:
      • Headquarter with Current Layer: US-GAAP
      • Subsidiary with Current (J-GAAP)+ Operating (Adjustment for US-GAAP): US-GAAP
    2. Create a Financial statement without applying any filter on the posting layer.

    It's best practice to use Current Layer for Local Gaap and Operation Layer for Adjustment for Reporting Gaap.
