Related records not showing Products entity

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi Guys,

Im trying to set up a Products feature on the Account level. I want to use the "Set Properties" function which Im hoping will allow users to search for a the products that are being used by a particular account, similar to how opportunities, leads or contacts works. My question comes when setting up the "set properties" I dont want to choose all record types as this will show all the various products in the window. I want to choose "Only related products" so the users can pick and choose the products in use.

When I choose "only related records" in the set up window, the products entity is not an option to choose. Is there a way of getting the products as an option here?ice_5F00_screenshot_5F00_20181001_2D00_173420.png

    Hi,

the reason why it didnt show up already explained by shidin. But however, you can easily use connection to achieve this requirement, but oftenly user found that using connection is very toublesome, So, you can create N to N relationship.

    Connection

Opportunities, Leads and contacts have a relationship with the Account entity, which is why you are able to do it.

Product entity does not have any direct relationship to Account.

Assuming that you need to implement it, you would need to do the following:

    1. Categorize accounts.

    2. For each category, link products to it.

Basically, you need to tell the system what products are relevant to an account.
