Replace Logo with new version on existing Invoice document, using MSDGP 2013

Using MSDGP 2013

I have an existing Invoice Document in GP Report Writer. This is an already modified report because a logo is included in that document.
Our logo has changed however, so I want to substitute the new logo for the existing version.
What steps must I follow to make sure I format the new logo to match the same size and type of file, and replace the existing logo with the new version, so the substitution is accomplished seamlessly?

Are there any other factors I should consider before I perform the update to the report format?

    1. Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Customize > Report Writer

    2. Click on the Logo itself, then in the Properties window you will see the actual name of the picture field storing the logo

    3. Click on the Resources menu, then locate the field storing the picture

    4. Click the Open button to open the Picture Definition window

    5. Click on the Picture area and paste the new logo from your graphics application (i.e., paint)

    6. Click OK to save the picture definition

    7. Point and click on the logo on the report and it should shift to the new logo.

    8. Save the report and return to Microsoft Dynamics GP

    9. Print an invoice or 2 to make sure that the logo is where you want it to be.

    Hello Mariano:

Is there a preferred picture format to use when working with a logo picture file in the Report Writer?

Do you find that a .png file will provide acceptable results?

I followed your directions with no problems. When I opened the Picture Definition window, however, I could not paste the new logo. I was pasting a copied file from a picture directory location. Could that have made a difference? I am logged in as 'sa', so it should not be a permissions problem.

You need to open the logo file with something like Paint then copy and paste it from Paint to the picture area in the Picture Definition window. As for your previous question, 16-color images work best as Report Writer does not handle higher picture definitions. If you paste a high color definition image into the Picture Definition window, Report Writer will end up converting it to a 16-color image anyways. In that process, some colors may get distorted.
