Quick Search: How to limit quick search to search current view only

Is there a way to limit the quick search to only search the current view selected in CRM?

For example, if my starting view is My Active Customers and I want to conduct a quick search on my active customers only.

Right now, using quick search searches the entire Account entity not just current view.

Is this possible?

    Hi Dominica,

    Unfortunately this isn't possible. When you do a quick find, CRM uses the Quick Find View on the entity and it'll search within the results returned by that view (the default criteria I believe is Active records).

    If this was helpful, I'd appreciate if you would mark this as a Verified answer.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

    Unfortunately, this is not possible, but In this case, you can use Advanced Find.

    Hi Dominica

    It is not possible

    Because when you use view -> It will use filter criteria as defined in the view

    But when you use quick search find -> it will take 'keyword' only + the defined filter criteria in the quick find view setting as the filter criteria, it doesn't take the active current view

    Thanks

    Thanks for all the responses received. I was thinking it wasn't possible but wanted to make sure. I believe it will be a great improvement to the search functionality in CRM to be able to define the quick search to different parameters/views than the Global search.

    Another question:

    Can someone tell me the various ways to conduct a keyword search? I know you can use the wildcard as our users are using them but are there any other strings possible?

    For example, I updated my find columns, but I want to be able to search across two at a time within the search name and city columns.

    name = michigan inn

    city = petoksey

    How would I search for both parameters in the quick search? Is there a resource page defining the various searches available?

    Strangely enough, the Business Unit entity performs this way.  It searches only within the results displayed.  I'm not sure how or why, this is the only entity I've noticed behave like this.

    Sure, it's easy, but not with the Quick Search. Within your Personal View or System View do you see the tiny little funnel symbol just to the right of the header of your last column? When you toggle that little funnel button, drop-down arrows appear on the left side of all the column headers. Click this tiny drop-down arrow for a column and select Custom Filter. Voila!

    Of course this restricts the search to just that column, but I think this is what you were looking for
