Decimal separator character in filters

In my company uses spanish number format, this means we use a comma (,) as decimal separator and a dot (.) as thousand separator.

When someone wants to filter a numerical value, they use the dot key in the numeric keyboard. That, in Ax4, works fine. It writes a dot symbol because writing a comma would make the filter to look for two different values instead of a decimal value. But, in Ax2012, pressing the dot key in the numeric keyboard writes a comma instead of a dot symbol.

We can use dot key (not the one in the numeric keyboard) and works fine, but having to move the hando over the keyboard to write decimal numbers is quite annoying.

How can we solve this problem?

This is not an AX issue, check what keyboard layout is showing when you are within AX, and also what is the Windows regional/localization setting. Maybe you have multiple keyboard layouts, or if you use a Terminal server, then the terminal servers' default keyboard layout or Windows locale is taking over. Your system engineers should be able to easily change that.

What I do understand is that you would like to use the dot key for both data entry in decimal fields and behave different within a filter value. This is not possible. Like Vilmos stated, the dot key will behave depending on Windows regional settings. It is not controlled by the application.

Then, why is this working in Ax4 ??

I don't have any access to AX4 to be able to verify this. Things are changing between environments. The Damgaard Axapta product was changing to a Microsoft Dynamics AX product. Possibly nobody has thought of this scenario....
